TommyTwoToes is Wrong! I know. I know. It
sounds really surprising.I Personally,
cant say enough good things about the man. However, when I disagree with someone, I will let them know. In this case, I will tell all of you.
Observer chat does not make the game more realistic. In the article itself, Tom quoted “Fowler” as
saying, “I would never do it in person”.
I believe that to be the case of 99.9% of chat during online games. I have never seen someone in person, after a
bad beat or any other hand, say the kind of crazy things these online players
say. I don’t want Earl to call “off
subject” on me, but it is the same behind the wheel.
I’m sick and tired of these little weasels driving like nut
cases and flipping people off. They
would never do it in person, but wrap them up in a big metal cage on 4 wheels
and all the sudden their invincible.
Case in point: I was cut off in the most dangerous way in front of the grocery
store on Saturday. If I had my son with
me, I would have let it be. I pursued
and parked right next to the idiot in the jacked-up truck. He was a little weasel of a man driving a
huge 4X4 truck. He looked over at me,
and I made eye contact. He looked down
and acted like he was busy doing something in his car. I waited 4 minutes & 28 seconds to get
out so that I could walk behind him. He
was about 5’ 6” and around 135-140 lbs.
Sorry if I described some of you out there, but I contain almost exactly
twice his mass on this planet. When he approached
the grocery buggies, I made my move.
Right as he was reaching out to grab the buggy, I stepped in front of
him and grabbed the buggy instead. Then,
as I was pulling it out and almost backing right over him, I turned to him. “I would never do something out on the road
in my truck that I wouldn’t have the balls to do in person.” Short pause for effect. “That was you in the
black F-150, right?” The look on his
face was worth any price. If he would
have shot me (and I lived) I probably still wouldn’t regret it. I’ve never been shot, I know, it’s amazing. The little weasel was stunned. I don’t think it was intimidation as much as being
approached in person about his rudeness out on the road.
If I had one poker wish, it would be the ability to know
what hold cards the other guys have. A
close second is to have the personal information for each player online. Why? I
thought you would never ask.
I get my diamond on the river to make my flush. I’ve stayed in this pot far too long with
just a 10d 2d. There are Kd Ks 5d and
the turn is a 4c. Why did I call the guy
next to me (obviously playing three kings) for $450? It’s early, only $1.20 buy-in and I’m feeling
lucky. I stick around for the Jd and
make my flush. He goes all-in. I call, and he is knocked out! On the way out the door, he starts.
Bitch: “You f**king call me with 10 2?
You are an ass! Moron! Go F**k your mother, s**thead!”
BigPappy: “Brian
Peterson? Is that you?”
Bitch: (nervously)
“Do I know you?”
BigPappy: “You will if you still live at 235 Holiday
Lane in Houston. I got a three-day weekend coming up. I’ll stop by and let you talk to me that way
in person.”
Now, that would make it greatness. The ability to confront the person in the
jacked-up 4X4! You want to talk
realistic? Wouldn’t I be able to stand
up and knock your ass out if we were playing live? Right, all you little foul mouthed weasels?
Of course, why is this even worth our time? Can’t we block chat? Why isn’t THAT a problem for you guys that
talk smack?
(edit by TommyTwoToes : this my friend is the beauty of
living in a free country where you have the right to have a differing opinion,
thanks BigPappy for sharing yours. I did make one small change, I changed the
name of the article from TommyTwoToes is Wrong to what it is currently; I did
this so that random people would know what article to reference. Original
