Not surprisingly the World Trade Organization is going to be looking into the US betting laws to see if they would violate current trade agreements. Last time this happened the WTO said it was legal, and the US still told them to take a walk. Since it wasn't being enforced at the time, no one ever bothered to say anything, but now that the CEO of betonsports.com, has been detained (in our own backyard of Ft. Worth no less), the WTO is responding to the arguments from Antigua finally.
Restrictions could mean additional tarrifs on exported goods from the US as a penalty for WTO violations.
