Online Gambling Ban Sneaks Through the Backdoor

posted by Nekosohana

The news article can be found here.

On Friday night thejim reported on the forums that online gambling ban (H.R. 4411) had been added as a rider to the Safe Port Act (H.R. 4954) by majority leader Bill Frist.

The Safe Port Act was considered extremely popular and passed with a majority vote due to it's primary intention. Representative Jim Leach is quoted as having said: "It is extraordinary how many American families have been touched by large losses from internet gambling." Senator Jon Kyl has called online gambling a "moral threat".

And alternate source of information (and highly informative) is available through this link: http://www.prweb.com/releases/poker/ban/prweb445243.htm
