Last week wasn't very nice, I busted out second at the weston poker tourney on Saturday and then ran up to Choctaw and lost $200 up there.
So first the tourney, the hand that did me in was KK vs QQ. I had KK and Crown called me down to the river with QQ. He ended up rivering the flush and my two red Kings were no good. In all fairness I don't consider it bad play on his part, well unless he thought I had an over pair. I think he probably though I had AJ. The hand went like this button raised, Crown called in the SB and I reraised in the BB. The flop came Jack high with two spades. I bet out and the button folded, Crown called. Turn was another spade lower than the Jack, I bet and Crown thought for awhile then called. The river was a 4th spade, he checked I checked. I lost 70% of my stack there and was pretty much out of the tourney. Everytime I raised someone came over the top of me. I finally went out with ATs vs AK when we both missed and his hand held up.
So I headed up to choctaw. I spend the better part of 4 hours down $25 to $50 when I finally busted out at 2 am. I had A6 suited on the button, flop came 872 was bet I and one other called. The turn was a 5. I was now open ended with a hard to see straight draw. The river was a 4 my money card. This guy bets and I think about it for awhile and figured I would either split if he had a 6, but I felt like he was protecting 2 pair, so I reraised all in and he instant called with 96 for the higher straight. Who plays 96 UTG? So I left after that. Tom won about $250 and Jake was down a c-note or so. We will be going back up there in a few weeks and I will get my cash back. I am still up $450 at choctaw anyways and an 2 for3 with positive sessions.
The experiment is running good. I have played 2275 hands. I have earned 60BB averaging 2.62 BB/100 hands. I have played 22 session and have won 15 of them. I am playing 26% of the hands dealt to me, which is about where I want to be. My software has me rated as Slightly loose but agressive.
Up until today I was winning in every postion played except one, a mid position but I have since corrected that leak and have posted a positive number in that position.I defend my blinds well, I have paid $434 in blinds and have a net amout of -$200 which means I have actually made 234 from the blinds. AA has finally come into the black, while I only have a 73% win rate with them I am up 6BB. My biggest winning hands are QQ,KK,JJ and 66.
Some other interesting stats, I am actually down money with High card and pairs. Every other hand I am up in. This goes to show a pair is a weak hand in holdem, and other poker games. I have gone to showdown 30% of my hands and wining 57% of those showdowns. I would like to push that up to 60% by 10,000 hands.
I have also wrote my first article of my profitable series look for that in the next few days. I need to proof read it and add a few more things. I am hoping to post it by Wed. Thats all the updates I have for now.
