Tonight was the night of the Weston Poker Softball showdown. It was old lions agains new lions, the best of the best 4. The game started off with the bottom of the fifth up 2 to nothing. We ralleyed back to tie it up. The second inning they score another 2 making it 4 to 2. We tie it up after our at bat and go to the top of the 3rd tied. After 3 straight groundouts to short we put up 7 runs to take an 11 to 4 lead. The bottoms rally and put up 4 runs to make it 8 to 11. We put up another 5 runs to go up 16 to 8. The game ended after their at bats with a victory for the old guys, 16 to 11.
Player recap, I sucked ass. I went 1 for 2 and only reach because of a throwing error. I took a walk at my third at bat. My bat let me down tonight, or maybe it was Jim's constant barage of comments at the plate, or maybe it was the 3 huge suckouts I took before the game that had me on tilt.I fielded 2 balls in the last inning for outs. I was promised some action over there but it never came. I think Jim said something like 36 runs!
Matt turned a double play at third when we had bases loaded with no outs. Good job there Matt that stopped what could have been a huge inning for us.
Jim did pretty good, hit two solid balls to short stop, made our SS work for it. He did take a walk at his last at bat and seemed a little upset about that, but he walked and it loaded the bases. I always say if you didnt hurt your team, then its a positive play.
Mlinny and Babyarm both hit the ball well, and made some positive plays in the field. I think they will do well in the league.
Now back to poker. I have been playing some NL over on Titan. The game is pretty soft but it has been brutal.. I should be up $400 but I have had some huge suckouts on the river. I had JJ vs AA, granted I hit my set on the flop but he resucked out on me on the turn. I feel this was a huge suckout because he didnt play his aces. He let me do all the betting. Then I had AA vs JJ and he hit on the river after all the money was in. Then I had AA vs A9 the flop was A99, money goes all in turn was another 9, what are the odds. I am down about 160 on titan after two weeks, that includes bonuses I have cleard and lost. I will be aiming to get that back this weekend. I am going to tighten up and play from position, I have been playing some loose aggresive poker in the NL game.
