The Peasants Have a New Game!
As you probably know by now, I love the $1+$.20 multi-table SNG (45 players). If you go all the way it lasts over an hour (to train my attention span) and you can actually gamble and not worry about losing a chunk of change. However, last night Pokerstars started offering my new fave!
Turbo $1.50+$.25! 18 Players, top 4 paid. 1st place gets $10.80 and 2nd place gets $8.70. I played one last night and placed 2nd. The blinds are faster, the time bank is only 30 seconds, and it only took 27 minutes to get to the final table. Then it lasted another 34 minutes for a total time of 1:01.
To be honest, I had my luckiest start ever. 1st hand was KK and I doubled BB with 4 people calling, flop came K97 rainbow. I checked and luckily someone with a pair of 9s went all-in. So I doubled up the first hand. Then my third hand was AJ os, and the flop was A4J. I played slow again. The river came J and had another guy go all-in and I put him on As or set of 4s or flush draw with 2 spades. I had a full house and called. Amazingly, he had the last J. He was already down some, but it still put me in the $4200 range in the first 3 hands of the tourney (start with $1500). Auto-pilot for nearly 30 minutes sucks! I had a few good hands and made a couple thousand more, but it was the final table that pissed me off. Like I mentioned a time or two before, I'm "Finale Challenged". I have chip lead with 3 left. $19,000 and they are battling over second with around $3500 each. Finally one knocks out the other and I have a 2 to 1 chip lead. I lose! WTF!
I either need someone to come watch me play a final table and give me an assessment of my skills & tips or someone comeover and play for me so I can see how it's done! I mean, seriously, what are the chances of making final table 30 times in the past 2 months and NEVER winning it all? Could it be a curse from the poker gods?
Any volunteers? Glenn, I heard you live in my neighborhood, and that you are pretty good! |
