MY FIRST . . . . FIRST PLACE FINISH!
The curse is over! Last night I changed my son into some pajamas, gave him a sippy cup of milk, put him down in his little recliner and started "A Bugs Life". Then I crept back behind the couch, turned on the computer and played some poker.
$1.50 + $.50 Multi-Table SNG (18 entries). I got out to an early lead with two good hands outta the gate. Up to $3110 in chips ($1500 to start) and kinda coasted my way to the final table. I wasn't gettin any good cards at all. I played AA once and lost $2000 to pocket 3s! It was rough! Well, I finally got the hand I wanted with 4 people left. I will try to tell details, but sometimes I screw them up.
Got K7 os and everyone calls the BB and we see a flop. 7 J 7! I get excited and think, "Wow, this is the greatest hand I've had in a while!" Checks all around. 5th street is K. Checks to me. I thought about it and I Checked! I know it sounds crazy, but I was trying something different for a change. Hell, nothing else was working. Dealer bets 2X BB ($2000). Everyone Calls around to me. I wait. I wait. Then the time bank kicks in. I click it and the computer anounces that I was asking for time. Then I call. River is 8! 1st person bets $2K, next goes all-in, I call his all-in, dealer goes all-in, I have to go all-in to call him. I win the main pot. Dealer wins side pot with Js & Ks. It is just him and me, but i have $22,000 to his $5000. Next hand he is BB and it just went up to $2000, and he goes all-in with 78 and I call with QJ and take it home!
