valid arguement. i've often wondered about this myself. but i'm not aware of any tournys where the dealer toke goes entirely to the dealers.

but then again, it's just like a restaurant. Chili's will provide you with a waiter. but they're only going to pay him $2.35/hr or something like that. the tip is the only thing that makes it worth dealing.

and before anyone gets all up in arms let me say this. tipping is not required. you are not obligated to do so, although my personal opinion is that you should take care of your dealers and i have always felt that way.
