Don't give up!!!

Don't give up!!!

It really just sounds like you've been running bad. If you really do get your money in with the best of it like you say, you WILL win in the long run. That's how professionals make a living. They get their money in with the best of it and get paid off by those with draws and second best hands. The suck out donkeys will occassionally crack your hand but, overall, solid play will prevail. Like you, I was running REALLY bad for about 3 months. It seemed to be an even distribution of bad beats and bad cards but it really screwed with my head. This destroyed my confidence and, as a result, I went even further in the hole by throwing good money after bad money. I'd chase draws and call oversized bets just trying to get even in one hand. I then decided, as hard as it was, to just stop playing for a couple of weeks. I came back with a clear head and new perspective. First time back at the table was a 77 person ($75 buy-in) tournament in Garland and I took down 2nd for almost $1K. My next session was a $570 win in a $1/$2 NL game.

Anyway, when I was running bad, I cursed this game like you are right now. A little time off gave me the clear head that I needed to make a comeback. Give it a try and get back to the tables. Besides, I'm not sure that it's entirely possible to give up poker? 8-)
