I'm Ready to Gamble!
I had built up my account to around $100 and decided to play (2) $20+2 SNGs one night a few weeks ago and placed 1st in both. Since I normally play what Don Nelson likes to call “small ball” (SNGs $5 or less), I realize this is not a door opening to a whole new world of professional poker. However, I was so excited about making $136 playing online in one night, my wife took notice. When she realized that my account had gone to $150 and challenged me to take it out and put it in the bank. She said, “You always said if you made money playing poker you wouldn’t just let it sit in your account. I know this isn’t a lot of money, but I don’t think you can do it voluntarily.” So, to prove her wrong I took out $140 and deposited it in the bank.
I hit a cold streak since. I was down to $.80 at one point. I played ring games to get $1.50 for a SNG, won $5.70. The next night I played in a $5 SNG and won $22.50. Then last night I was going to enter a $20+2 and let it all ride, but I decided to settle for a $10 SNG. First hand was AQ suited. BB goes all-in after I raise. Then dealer goes all-in. I took my time and made the dumbest move ever. I called. JJ (BB) and AK off suit (Dealer). I pulled out the flush and started with $4500 in chips. Never looked back and took in $45. I think I’m going to gamble all this money. I know it isn’t good poker, or even good gambling, but I just want to let it ride. I have around $60 in my account and I need something from all of you. I need you to tell me why I shouldn’t just let it ride and join a $50 SNG for the fun of it!
