worst cards for a $700 pot
i could not believe what i was seeing at a 1/2 NLHE table at winstar last night, this is unbelievable
the raise preflop is $8, remember that this is a 1/2 table
3 players in this flop, the small blind and 2 ppl in middle position
flop is 4s 8c 5s, checks all around, turn come 4c, sb bets $15, next player raises $25 on top of that, last player re-raises for $50 more, small blind raises this to $100 total, the next player goes all-in for around $200, the player in last position thinks for a split second and calls, small blind thinks a little longer but calls as well, making the pot around 600-700 dollars, with still the river to come, the river brings 5c, the small blind only had $60 left and quickly pushed all-in, which is called by the player in last position
as i watch this, me and the guy next to me are thinking maybe someone has the straight flush and another has quads, and we are thinking it is bad beat jackpot time, how wrong we were
the winning hand here was QQ which was held the person who was in 2nd position and moved all-in on the turn, the small blind held A8 of spades and the player in last position had 7 9 of spades, both were calling $200 on spade draws, i was shocked at how these guys were giving there money away
sure the guy with the nut flush draw had top pair with the draw, but the the board being paired on th turn when all the raising occurring, boat possibilities and i dont think it ever crossed his mind that there was the possiblility of overpair, i didnt even think these guys neede to be committed to this pot the whole time either
the guy with the QQ was shocked he won the hand, i knew not to try to get anybody off of draws at the table after that, truly unbelievable |
