Party Poker Venting
Allow me, if you will, just a moment here.
A little background:
I'm mainly a S-N-G player with a little $1/$2 and $.50/$1 NL mixed in. I have played the $100 level down the $5 but stick around the most at the $20 and $10 level. I'll mix it up quite a bit with single table and 20/30 person multi tables.
About 3 months ago I went on a hell of a ride. I was down to my last $10 or so in my PP account and I reloaded to my normal of $75. And logged in on my day off before a long weekend vacation. I had some time to kill as I was off from work and the GF was gone so I chunked $20 into a 270 person NL tourney. Limped through and ended up with a hell of a run on the final table and won it, collecting $1,400 on my $20 entry.
Immediately took $1,200 out and turned the $200 remaining into about $600 in withdrawls. I'm far from the best player, but I think I'm pretty good on the tables. I'm not going to bankroll a grand online, but I think I've cashed out more than every deposit i've made until two weeks ago.
I really wish that I would have had all the tourney results sent to me over the past week. But here are the results as I know them from the major beat downs:
2 Table SNG down to 10 players. I'm small blind UTG marginal stack makes it 800 (400/200) blinds. Folds around to 2100 idiot that goes all in, his 2nd in 4 hands since combining tables. Folds around to me, I have 3400 in chips and AA. I move all in hoping that UTG folds, he calls so I have the opportunity to triple up here. Idiot turns over A-2 unsuited, UTG turns over KQ unsuited. Nice, I think I'm favored by about 99% to 1%.
Flop comes: 3, 4, K. I know what's coming, another K or a Q. Turn was of course the Q and the river was the 5.
I just got three ways of ass raped by the straight and two pairs. Gone from the table. It happened so fast that I had to look at the history to see what happened. I had whiplash.
So this was probably 1 of 4 tables that night that I didn't cash.
I have since been beat out by 4,5 to my AQ after floping the Q and betting 70% of the pot.
Got it great today at lunch when short stacked at a $20 single table when I get 77 in the small blind and move all in trying to get the blind. Called by a k-10 who flops both and knocks me out.
I've lost the last 15 tables I've played on.
Please tell me how bad I suck and that I should go back to betting on football. |
