Revisit Tournament Strategy...
I agree with always be accumulating, but my question came after watching a few people "Blow UP" with good hands after accumulating between 18-20K in a tourney after being early chip leaders. They had more than enough to sit tight and coast into the money and pick up a very high position / payout had they sat tight.
Lets face it good hands do not always hold up, isnt it foolish to continue to push from a position you could easily ride to the final table with?
I am talking tournaments, obviously in cash games you push in with any decent starting hand to build up your stack, but in a tourney is'nt the main objective at a minimum to place in the $$$, and if you get deep in the money even better?
Funny Story: I played a $30 buy in S&G Omaha Hi/Lo online about a year ago. I was called away 2nd hand to go get my kids, I sat out, and I came in third place out of 9. Everyone else blew themselves up, I made money doing nothing. (I tried this 2 more times at $5 just to see, and it did not lead to any$$$) :)) |
