Listen . . . Here's the thing.
I had to reprint this rant from another board (not going to say which one). This guy is a friend of mine and former Vegas pro who lives in California now. He was back in Vegas during NBA All-Star Weekend, hoping to pick up some loose money, but the cards were not kind to him, and his bad luck has followed him back home.
[Man Narrator]
Listen ...here's the thing:
If you can't spot the sucker in your first half hour at the table, it doesn't matter. When you're getting dealt 83os and 25os every other hand, you are the sucker.
Guys around here'll tell ya... call a straddle in LP with 88, and 3-bet push the straddlers raise.
It's not like any other job - you gamble. Pretty much when you play 88 like that you run into AA and AA flops a set while you're drawing dead.
Your goal is to flop one set a session. Get your money in on the turn with middle set, and lose to a baby flush to an asian lagtards river call.
Don't bother worrying about flopping sets. Probability says you should flop 1 in 7, well my friends, I haven't flopped a set in my last 60-75 pocket pairs.
That's how I've managed to blow $1500 in my last 6 sessions of live poker. I keep on thinking "this is the one", I'll call off 25% of my stack b/c I know I'm due.
A true fucking loser.
See, I learned how to run cold from the best, but let me tell ya one thing...
Even if you don't flop a set, chances are you're gonna lose anyway when AK calls c/r all-in with 66 on a 10 high board on the turn and hits an A on the river and yells Send IT.
