I'll Try That

I'll Try That

I was reading that bankroll challenge thing that Ferguson posted and we had a thread about. Maybe I’m a dork but it sounded pretty cool to me so I’ve decided to try a similar deal for myself.

So last night (May 4th) I deposited $100 into my FullTilt account. I’m not going to start with zero like Ferguson, that seems like too much of a pain in the ass for me. My goal will be to get that bankroll up to 20K.

Here are my rules for play:

Cash games – I can not buy into a cash game unless it is 10% or less of my bankroll and have a stop limit of 2 buy-ins down per session. Also for NL games I must be able to buy-in for the max at that table/limit.

Sit & Go – Max buy-in 5% of bankroll, but I can buy-in to any sit & go of $2.50 or less

Multi-Table Turny – Max buy-in 2% of bankroll, but I can buy-in to any $1 turny

I expect to play no more then 15 hrs a week, but most likely more like 10 hrs a week. I think this will take about a year.

I’ll use PokerTracker to track all of my sessions.

I’ll post a quick update of my progress about the 1st of each month.

OK so does anyone see anything about this that I need to add and/or change?

My motivation for doing this is 1) I think it would be fun and 2) because I have a theory that bankroll management is at least as important as how well you play, 3) I need to work on my discipline.

Oh one other thing I had a few bucks in my FT account so my starting bankroll is $141.10
