Chinese Poker

Chinese Poker

Pokerscribe and I were waiting for a game to start and so we started to play Chinese Poker for a few hands. I obviously dominated him in the three hands we played (for no real money) but in thinking about the game I was confused on why you always hear about high stakes Chinese taking place when a bunch of professionals are around.

For example, Hellmuth admitted to losing a big chunk against Ivey and others on a plane ride back to the States while flying across the pond. I played three hands, and I felt I had it down pretty good. YOu get 13 cards, you make three hands.....first hand has to be the strongest.

No real bluffing, no betting. Why don't poker players want to play poker against other poker players? Or are they just so gamble-crazed that they are willing to rely on mostly luck to build their bankrolls when surrounded by other skilled traditional players.

Just curious.
