Live vs. Online
is it possible that a player can be successful as a live player but be mostly a failer online?
about three months ago, i posted a thread about about trying to start my "poker career" officially. i was going to try to play more live, build my bankroll and track all my sessions. i'm happy with the overall results so far. i was suprised to find that i'm only winning 60% of my sessions. i had hoped to do better. and i had to spend my bankroll on other expenses, so i didn't get to play much in May.
anyway, i was thinking about it last night and i was wondering why i can win playing live...but i can't seem to win playing online. well, let me rephrase that. i can't seem to win playing anything lest than generally 3/6 or 5/10 online. i can't seem to beat the "micro" limit or NL games.
i think i've bought in to FT two or three times in since i started tracking my live play. normally i would buy in and take the entire amount to a 3/6 or 5/10 table and just play with a single buy in. but since the Ferguson "0 to 10k" deal, i've tried to use my deposit as a starting bankroll and play the limits that that bankroll would justify.....and have had no success playing these levels.
i've considered the fact that the micro limits online might have more players willing to gamble due to the low stakes. but as far as my live play goes, these are pretty much as "micro" as live play allows. the chart contains all my wins [b:63c62c4eef]and[/b:63c62c4eef] losses. so it's not like i'm imagining that i'm an overall winner live.
anyway...does can anyone think of a reason why i can do well live and not online? other than i'm a donk |
