APL

I'm sure most of you guys have heard of/participated in the APL events around Dallas.

Last night I played in one (placed 10th out of 64) and it was a blast. I think my live game will really improve by sitting with a bunch of complete strangers. However, the "endgame" of the tourneys isn't really educational at all. The blinds and color-ups go so quickly that when they color up to the 5000 denomination, most people have 2-5 chips total, and the blinds are 5000/10000. With multiple all-in-blinds every hand, it went from 16 to the winner in about 20 minutes.
