2-5 cash game
So Richard calls me from somewhere in Indiana today to tell me about a 2-5 cash game from the previous day. I may get some details wrong, but overall I dont think it matters much.
Full Table. Preflop action not that important...you only need to know that the average pot was over $200 at this table. There are several players to see the flop, the pot is up to about $500 to the flop.
Flop comes a 2 card club flush draw with 10 high on the board.
Early position bets $500.
Late Position thinks for a bit, then calls. Everyone else folds.
Turn is not a club and not a straight maker.
Early Position guy bets another $500.
Late Position guy thinks again for a while, then calls.
River is another blank.
Early position fires out another $500.
Late position thinks for a LONG time. Then takes his sweet time and counts out $500...very theatrical like. Looks over at the guy and as he is putting the last few chips into the $500 stack he is building and gives him the look like he is gonna make the call. However, he never actually says CALL or pushes his chips in........
......the Early Position bettor then grabs his cards and tosses them into the muck. Then, the late position guy says...."I knew you were gonna muck" then turns his cards over and shows 7-8 off suit.....
....the Early Position guy is pissed, pulls his cards out of the much says he won the hand with a busted 9 high club draw.
They had to call the floor, let the dumbass know that his hand was dead when it hit the muck....blah blah blah.
That is one helluva read that guy had on the other guy. |
