Thanksgiving Night on Full Tilt
Well I decided I wanted me one of those stupid little arrows you get for playing like 10,000 days in a row so when I got home from gorging myself I logged on. Then catastrophe hit.
I first jump into the daily A for $10. I don't really remember what happened, but went out fairly early. No big deal.
Then it hit.
I jump in a $24/45 person SNG. I take down the first hand uncontested, fold the second hand, 3rd hand I am OTB or real close (not sure, but doesnt matter). I look down at the nuts KJ (inside joke). Several limpers so I raise it up to try and eliminate some folks. I throw out a nice 125 raise. Everyone fold except 2 early dudes. Pot is 475 or so.
Flop is Q  10  5 :club:
I think to myself: "Myself that was a decent flop for you." It gets checked to me I fire out about a 390 bet or so expecting to most likely take it down there. I get one called. I think "Myself not really happy with the call there..we'll see what happens on the turn and decide if we are done with this hand or not."
Turn: 9 :club:
Eureka! Bullseye. The mother load has just come in. I immediately go into thinking: "Myself how can we get the most money out...." and before I can get it out EP Pushes ALL IN for his remaining 1800 or so (I think he had won the 2nd pot). After a quick view of the board I think "Myself you are holding the nuts - call him as fast as you can."
He turns over A :club: 10 :club:
Oh sweet I get to double up early in the tourney! What an idiot. Tommy would love this kid.
River: Some motherfucking :club:
And then the words "You better recognize" appear from his little name. That always adds to the excitement a bit!
GG Mike.
Ok that sucked. Hey it happens! So I decide to step my game up a bit and play in the 50/50. $50 buy in 50K guaranteed I think - still trying to figure out all of FTP's cute little names!
Anyhow something like 980 in (not much value). So I grab a quick double up, and have a nice 6K stack or so....build it up to about 10K...Play a stretch of bad poker and knock it down to about 2,500. By this time I have been at this particular table for quite some time. I have been playing for about 1 1/2 hours. The table chip leader, and one of the bigger stacks in the tourney, is two to my right. I have been watching him, and getting a good read on him. His MO was simple. He played a lot of pots, and tried to buy them. On a seemingly harmless flop he would fire out a large bet, and then if there was a caller if a scare card hit on the turn he would jam the pot - unless his read was that it helped the caller.
I get dealt K  2  in EP. I start to hit fold, and then decide I am going to see where this goes and limp for $100. It fold around to Big Stack and he just calls.
Flop comes 5 :spade: J :diamond: 2 :spade:
He fires out a bet of $350 almost instantly. I think "Myself I think this jacker is just buying again." Call.
Turn comes 6
And he fires out enough to put me ALL IN. I think for a bit and go through his past hands that I have seen in my head and decide to call. Sure enough my read was spot on 8/9 off suite. Never had shit, and I double up. I wasn't even through patting myself on the back when I get dealt AK UTG.
I raise it up to $350 UTG and it fold around to my buddy Mr Big, but smaller now, Stack. He jams it up to $1100. At this point in time in the tourney there is about 1/2 of the people gone, and I am now a little over average stack, I will always be willing to lose all my chips with AK in a situation like this. So I come back at him and push ALL IN. This dickhead INSTA CALLS with 7/7.
Sure enough I get no help, and he hits another 7 for shits and giggles anyhow. And before anyone says it I know the asshole was ahead the whole time, but fucking 7's....really? seriously?
So instead of being in 27th (yes I checked where I would have been had I won), and a damn good shot at the money, I watch this fucking prick get my chips after my great call of his jackass play. Fuck me. Fuck me. "Myself fuck me"
I haven't been that frustrated in quite some time in poker. I felt like Brandon at the Omaha game. I just wanted to punch this guy.
Anyhow thought I would share.
Thansgiving - 92 for Mike.
No Tommy I do not need more money. I got 2nd in the same $24 the other night to bring me back to even overall.
Poker - oh so much motherfucking fun |
