rounder room free roll.
so i won a free roll last night and won $190. this took place at the rounder room in addison/dallas...
there were a couple hands which were key to my success.
i had k-q suited and was in the small blind... it was folded to me .. I raise the big blind calls. the flop comes A-Q-x... i check and the big blind immediately goes all in. I did not knowwhat to think of this and decided he was jsut trying to buy it and that likely he had a Q also maybe not a good kicker or maybe k-q like me or q-j... so i call ... he has A-10.. this does not look good for tommy... but the turn gave me another Q , that hand i was able to almost double up. I made the call in part cause the blinds were escalating so fast and a large part of my stack was out there already... also if i did win i would be sitting as one of the larger stacks...
so after a long time and 5-6 other people get knocked out it is down to 4 people... i get dealt Q-J suit in the big blind. everyone folds to the small blind and he raises from 2k to 4k .. I call this raise ... the flop comes Q-Q-Q... yep quads... he is first to act ... and he bets 5k... i think about and pick up 5k then put it down then look at my cards ... then hold them like i am goign ot fold... then i decide i am jsut going ot call ... so i say "I call".... the turn comes a 3... and he goes all in... acting like he has the Q... i was so happy he went all in ... we had about equal stacks he had like 3k more than me ... so i check my cards one last time to make sure i am not on crack and i make the al in call... he had A-3... so he hit his full boat on the turn...that made my stackthe largest by a few grand as there was anotehr guy at the table that had managed to knock a few others out earlier...
then when there are three people left ... i get a-3 on the button .. the blinds are 2-4k i raise to 12k...the bigstack i guess was pissed that i was playing a little agressive and he asked how much i had... so i tell him and he only has like 8k more than me ... hes says well i put you all in ... the big blind folds... and here i ma with a-3... the big stack was a decent card player yet i felt he was not very experienced... so after staring him down i show him my ace ... he shows a little emotion ... that makes me think he is scared .. then the dealer turns to look at the tv and says something ... and well it was not funny but the bigstack laughed ... i took this as a sign he was weak and tryign to relieve tension cause i had the ace ... so right after that i said "i call"... he flipped over K-J... I was a little worreid but knew i had the better hand at the moment... and sure enough nothign hit for either one and i was a huge stack now...
teh other guy did not have many in chips but i started getting crappy cards etc and he was able to bring his stack back up.. .but took the deal when i offered it . i took 190 and he took 150... the original payout was 240 and 100.. . |
