Poker handicapping

Poker handicapping

I saw this pretty cool thread on another website where a group of guys have started a system to handicap themselves to see who improves their game.

I have really grown to respect you guys when it comes to your ability at the table. I think there has been a strong group of players assembled through this website. I want to give this a shot to see how this would work for us.

Rules are simple. Post a list of what are your Top 10 players from this website, based on whatever SERIOUS parameters you want to use. Do not include yourself. After everyone interested has given their votes, you are awarded points based on your placement, 1 for 1st, 2 for 2nd, 3 for 3rd.....and so on.

After the lists have been tabulated, the "group" opinion is formed as far as where everyone ranks.

Then, say at DSOP, or the major tournaments (KI, FNTO, MSPC, Cajun Classic), your finish in those events is compared with where you sit on the list.

That way, if everyone takes it seriously, you can use it as a tool to see if you have improved over the year.

I think it would be a great way for us to rate our gameplay, if everyone that is participating takes it seriously.
