$200 NL holdem tournament online...
.... well on a whim i threw down 200 smackers... and won ... .
1000 bucks to me ...
i decided that when i went into it i was going to fold everything except pairs and facecards and ace combos anything less and it was a fold...in the first 30 minutes i only played like 3 hands besides the big blinds... then I got the coveted AA... oh ya baby... i played it cool... and just raised the bet a little... 4 people called... then the flop... and bam A-6-10... i was like hell ya... so since i only had around 1000 in chips at that time i threw down 200... 2 folded and 1 called and one actually raised.... so i reraised... the 1 that called folded and the raiser went all in .. so i called his sorry ass.... and bam he flips over Q-3... and there are my pretty aces staring him straight in the face... that pot landed me like 2000 bucks .. and then had around 3k total from there on out i just sat back and folded again and again(except the few good hands which really did nothing major)... till there were just a few left...and then with a chip lead i started playing a little loser... and winning some big pots... then when it was down to just 3 if i had a face card i was doubling the pot... and taking blind crippling the other players that were folding... i think they got it in their head that this guy only plays when he has great hands... and just out of luck when they did decide to call i had hands like q-k suited or j-k etc...
I was pretty proud of myself for showing betting restraint and patience for the good cards... |
