Re: Sorry I can't resist

Re: Sorry I can't resist

[quote:8b3c94e3ed="mickeyc"]So I bubbled the tournament at Shawn's yesterday and I can't stop thinking about the hand that crippled me. I got different opinions from different people at the table after it happened but here's how the hand went down.

7 people left blinds at 1500/3000, 200 ante

The 3 people involved in the hand:
Brett- approx. 30,000
Me- approx. 67,000
CrownNSeven- approx. 58,000

Folds around to the cutoff where Brett (my buddy/guest) raises to 9,000. I'm in the SB with K :spade: Q :spade: . I call. CrownnSeven is in the BB and reraises to 18,000 total. Brett folds. Its another 9,000 for me to call so I call.

Flop comes Q :club: 10 :club: 6 :diamond:

I check and Crown shoves for a little over 40,000. I tried getting a read on him but didn't come away with much. I let him know I had a queen. He struck me as being a little bit weak, but he really wasn't giving much away. After a minute or two I made the call. Of course he's got K :club: K :diamond: and I brick out and bust on the bubble a few hands later.

I'm not going to try and justify my call to make myself feel like I played the hand okay and there was just nothing I could have done. I am so pissed off that I bubbled this tournament for the second straight year after sitting pretty with almost 70k in chips. If anyone wants to offer any opinions I'm up for it. Obviously folding preflop would have worked out beautifully. Constructive criticism is encouraged.[/quote:8b3c94e3ed]

This was one of the most exciting hands of the tourny, I'll let you know my persective. This was pehaps the 5th time I saw KK and had played them differently earlier (Limp/Call, Limp/Raise) and had almost a tourny ender when I limped AA and let Zero hit 2 pair on the flop. So with the raise to 9K and call, I needed to isolate here since I figure with that action I am up against A/rag or a low PP. Brett Folds and Mickey calls. His call made me think at the time I am up against an AK, AQ, JJ or 10-10...I did not put KQ or KJ in consideration. When I had overs to the flop and had position...I thought thank you, no Ace. Mickey checked....I didn't insta-push, but thought a few seconds...did he check a set 10's? Q's???I thought about a pot sized continuation bet (30K)...but that was close to what I had sitting left in front of me, about 41K....so I pushed to shut all action down. Mickey's first reaction of frustration let me know I was not looking at a set but more likely AQ. Tom looked at me a few times when Mickey was probing me about "if I could beat a queen?" I looked weak to asked if he could, and by Tom's face it looked as if I just told him exactly what I had in my hand. I think from now on I will not talk anymore during an all-in......I know I give too much away, and need to work on that part of my game. So after that I put my head down and stared at the felt...after a few minutes he called.....you know the rest.
