[quote:fb37eff460="Vanman"]I am running 40% winning vs 60% losing heads up over an 300 tourneys. My question is do you think that is good, avg, bad winning percentage. I am trying to plug a few leaks in my game and I can't really tell is this is just some variance or something else. I can look through my records and see how many times I have gotten it in good vs bad and check that way but I am more concerned on what people think is a good heads up winning % in SNGs (excluding heads up SNGS)
Opinions Please.[/quote:fb37eff460]
little confused... is this about HU SNG's... or about when you get HU in regular SNG's you then only when 40% of the time. only reason I ask is cause at first i thought it was about HU sng's then I read you last comment"excluding HU sngs"...
so i will assume that you are talking about regular SNGs and that you have gotten HU 300 times... first things first.... in my mind HU comes down to a lot of luck... but there is skill in it and you have to adjust yourgame... just like you dont play the same way 3-4 way as you would a full table. that being said if both players are of the same skill level you would expect that HU would basically be a coinflip... and in my mind in poker 40-60% is the so called coinflip range... thus you 40% falls into the lower part of that range... so yes you have some work to do ... but i would say you are avg. anytime you get above 50% you are above avg.
I would also state that a sample size of 300 is not all that huge in the grand scheme of things ...and thus 40% falls well into the avg coinflipping range... and has not deviated much from it.
I would be more interested to know what your % of getting it in good was... if that is around 40% then I would say you are playing to loose HU.(weather that be over agressive or by just being a call station)....
if you are getting it in good 50% and only winning 40% then ya that sucks but is not that far out of line... if you are getting it in good 75% then ya I would guess you are just having a bad run.
maybe some super math wiz will break it down further.... but that is my general assesment.
