Cheap Poker Strategy Questions

Cheap Poker Strategy Questions

I have implemented a new strategy for my online poker playing. Each night I play a single $1 + $.20 Multi-Table SNG w/ 45 people. Top 7 are in the money. Win or lose, I quit after one game. I started this on Saturday night. Tonight will be my third night. I came in 1st for $14 on Saturday night. Last night, I came in 8th, the bubble. Here is where the question comes in. I’ve heard people state things like, “don’t move up in money until you have a consistent 35% winning record or better”.

Do you calculate the XX% record by each time in the money? Does a 1st place finish count the same as a 7th? Is there a better way to see who successful you are? Can you calculate revenue (total winnings) minus money invested ($1.20/SNG) divided by number of SNGs entered? That would give you the average $ per SNG. Does that tell me anything? Should I be shooting for consistency?

Any suggestions would help.
