Pre Flop Strategy

Pre Flop Strategy

Just wanted to get some opinions on this. I've been thinking about this for awhile..and after a home game last night - started thinking about it some more. I like to limp my big pairs sometimes - as many of you know (AA at Big Pappy's) and sometimes I come out and raise. Last night I was playing in a cash game and get dealt QQ..I'm in early posistion so I limp knowing that there are a few aggressive players that will raise it up for me. Indeed they do - and I come right back over the top. One player folds. I just "know" one player has AK because he only bet enough to get the junk out of the way. After my reraise he starts to think (for a good minute) - goes all in and I immediately call. Sure enough he flips over AK .. I'm the favorite. He rivers the K. Damnit.

Finally... on to my question.. What do you think of this play? Do you think it would have been better to just call their raises so they could both see the flop - and surely the AK would have gotten out of the way. That's what I was thinking immediately after. Too late.
