OK guys, my first strategy post:
I was playing $1/2 game at Platinum Room.
On this particular hand, there were 10 players, and I was in mid position (4th after the BB). I had just won a nice pot (>$100) with a set of Queens against AA(yes I had a wired pair and flopped a Q, so it was technically a set). My table image was probably tight/agressive since I hadn't played many hands but did come out blazing when I had something.
So here's the hand:
pre flop
SB $1
BB $2
1st, 2nd, & 3rd all fold
ME Call I have 7h 6h
5th Calls
6th & 7th fold
Button calls
SB calls
$10 in pot
Flop 6c 3s 2d
SB check
BB bets $12
At this point I'm worried about top pair with bigger kicker or even a str8 from the BB. I raise to get information about his hand.
ME raise $12 with top pair but weak kicker
$34 in pot
5th and button fold
SB folds
BB calls
OK so he calls my raise and I'm still thinking top pair with good kicker or str8. But probably not str8 or he would have raised me. He was pretty aggressive. But also a little loose, and somewhat of a tool.
Turn
7c
BB checks
Now i'm thinking he's got 66 with a good kicker and is waiting to see what I do or he's slow playing his str8.
So I bet $25
He folds and shows K6
I take the pot and show my 6 7 two pair just to piss him off because he hasn't shut up all night.
He says "You raised with that?" and gives me a look like I'm a donkey.
So what I want to know is:
Did I play it right? (forget the fact that I ultimately won)
Was my raise the right move or not?
How else could/should I have played this hand?
