n8t30 was on the button, Waldifidious was in the cut-off seat, I was to his immediate right, and Dave was to my immediate right. We were halfway through the first level (10/20), and we all still had 1300-1700 in chips.
The hand folded around to Dave who limped in. I raised 100 (to 6x BB) with A:club: K:diamond:. Waldifidious raised me another 100. n8t30 called, Dave folded, and I called.
The flop came 3:spade: J:diamond: K:spade:, and was checked around. I agree with Jim that I should have bet here with TPTK.
The turn was 2:diamond: and I bet 200 into a pot of 710. Waldifidious called and n8t30 folded.
The river was the 10:spade:. I checked and Waldifidious bet 400 (pot now 1110). I should have put him more strongly on a flush at that point and folded, but mistakenly decided that he was on a bluff because I hadn't played aggressively enough, so I called. He turned over J:spade: Q:spade:.[/quote:3fb2d4342c]
why he is reraising with q-j I have no idea... and if he is goign ot reraise with it he is goign to call any bet with that flop... he hit a pair and a flush draw ... that type of player will never release it.[/quote:3fb2d4342c]
Well, Wal is a favorite on the flop, so him checking it is pretty dumb, too. I don't usually bet less than a third of the pot (your turn bet). He was right to call it. And, knowing that you only called 400 on the river makes the call better to me. You were getting almost 4-1 on your money, so you only have to have the better hand 1 in 5 times to make the call right.
