Re: Choosing a table

Re: Choosing a table

[quote:7a45fd65dd="Turd Ferguson"]OK. I learned an important and mildy expensive lesson online Saturday night. I had planned on going to Choctaw but due to being tired I eventually decided to stay home and play online.

I randomly (first mistake) chose a $1/$2/ table on Doyle'sRoom. After about 15 minutes it was obvious to me that the table was full of solid players (much different situation than what Tom and I were in at Choctaw). Instead of leaving and looking for a table with some easy money, I decided to stick around and see how things would turn out. I wasn't getting many good cards and when I did failed to find a way to get paid off on them. Ultimately I lost about $100 and got the hell out and went to bed. I played for two hours. Not alot, and definitely not more than I can handle, but still it's been awhle since I've not walked away feeling pretty good.

So, I would like to hear some advice on table choice. Of course there are some obvious guidelines (all of which I ignored on Saturday)., but I am interested in what you guys do to ensure that you are getting the best of it when you sit down.[/quote:7a45fd65dd]

Don't play tired.

I like to specifically look for % of flops seen. The about 25-28 is a good comfortable range for me. Anything above 40% I avoid.

Also, if you are playing online consistently, get poker tracker. It's 50 bucks and worth every penny.
