I am new to this site, but I do not see too much about 7 Card Stud posted here.
I am going to throw a few posts about the game, if you like what I have to say, well let me know and I will post more.
In my opinion 7 Card Stud presents a player with much different challenges than in any other game.
There is a greater opportunity to count cards, and I feel alot of players neglect the board texture while they play. Its not only what you have in your hand but what you represent to the guy across from you, and vice versa.
I play my cards to an extent, but I also bet against YOU across the table and heavily against YOU making your hand.
It amazes me how many people bet into door pairs without:
-having at least one of the the cards in their hand
-having higher trips, at least a lower set than showing
-or even having a starting hand that could turn into a stronger hand.
Now don't get me wrong, It may amaze me, but I still appreciate all their enthusiasm over their weak Dead End hands. ;)
Playing at The Borgata in Atlantic City, NJ last week I was at a great table with money flowing freely into dead hands, It was a great palce to be! Here and there they would pull the miracle card on the river, but more often than not they would muck the hand after seventh street.
You can find and play against me at FullTilt.com, test me out see if I'm full of it! I look forward to the challenge.
