Okay, since I like these "you make the call" posts, I'll put one out there myself. I preface this by saying that I know I misplayed this hand, so I expect some criticism here.
This one took place in an underground 1-2 NL game in Maryland that I used to play in. Mostly the same guys, good players, but there were usually one or two donks at the table. The action was pretty loose aggressive, and it wasn't unusual to see a couple of $300 pots every night.
In this hand, I was playing against a guy who was a huge LAG player. He wasn't afraid to move his chips, and it wasn't unusual to see him with $800 in front of him, or to be down the same amount. I don't remember his name, but everybody called him Cheetah, because he liked to chase his draws, and usually caught them. Overall, he was a big winner in this game, although I feel like he got more than his share of lucky breaks. Not that it matters, but he was a quiet, humble guy, not the kind of personality you'd expect from a LAG, especially on the East Coast.
As for my table image, I was considered a solid player, but most people probably felt like I played too tight, and lacked a lot of gamble. I was also a net winner at the game, but always for little scores, rarely for more than $200-300.
Enough background. Here is the hand. I'm in the BB with about $225 in front of me, and there are maybe three limpers, including Cheetah, who is on the button. I'm holding J  9 :club: . I let it go, of course, and the flop comes out:
9  9 :spade: 7 :spade:
$10 in the pot. I check. One of the limpers bets out $10. Cheetah makes it $25. I call, and everybody else folds, including the original bettor. [Comments on my call?]
Now, there is $70 in the pot, and we're heads up. The turn is a:
K
I think for a minute, and decide to take the lead. So, I bet $25. He thinks for about ten seconds, and raises to $75. I call.
Comments?
River and result tomorrow.
