This is a hand that came up while I was playing online today, and I would like to hear anyone's thoughts on it. I THINK I played it ideally, but I am always open to trying to improve.
Situation: Early on in a tournament (I don't even think we had completed an orbit). I had taken an early aggressive approach in this tourney - I think I had been in all but 2 hands. I stole one, had to back down on one, etc. and had slightly more chips than I started with.
No real reads yet on anyone else at the table at all.
ME: 1700 chips (5th Position (MP) for hand)
PokerTard69: 1380 chips (7th Position (MP) for hand)
r1rider: 2940 chips (2nd Position (BB) for hand)
Blinds: 10/20
I had raised all kinds of amounts from 60-120 trying to guage where the folding point was on the limp type players at this table in the previous hands.
I get dealt 8 :spade: 9 :spade:
Fold to me, and I raise it up to 60 to go. Pokertard bumps it up to 160 to go. Folds around to r1rider in the BB and he calls the 160.
First move? Fold, Call, Raise, etc.? I have a feeling this will most likely be a consensus here, but curious as to what everyone thinks.
