Moron or Not?

Moron or Not?

OK here is a ½ nl hand from last night. There was a lot of discussion about this hand and the general consensus at the table was that I played it like a moron. Maybe. I’ll let you guys judge.

10 handed I’ve been playing for about 3 hours and have a little over $300. A quick note about the structure it’s 1/2/5, $5 to come in and bets in increments of $5, i.e. a limp is $5 and you can’t make it say $17 to go you would have to make it $20 or $15.

The table is pretty passive pre-flop and not all that aggressive after the flop. There have only been a few hands with any real fireworks.

UTG+1 limps, the guy to my right limps, I limp with A3 clubs, guy to my left limps, and an asian lady on the button limps.

My read on the players: UTG +1 is a younger guy who likes to say what was the proper play and talks a lot about going to Winstar, he has about $125. I have him pegged as a beginner who has read a few books and is trying to play good poker.

Guy to my right had just sat down about 30 mins before this hand, he has about $150, I don’t have much of a read on him at this time.

Guy on my left came over after the Omaha game broke up, he’s been playing for a while. He’s on a short stack about $100 and been playing solid short stack poker. Also I have the feeling if he gets busted he'll call it a night.

Asian lady on the button. She is down at least a grand since I’ve been there, although she had about $250 in chips right now. She saw at least 90% of the flops raised or not. She almost never raised pre-flop. The only hands I saw her raise with where big hands, AA through QQ and AK. She also rarely raised after the flop. But she would call down most hands.

OK the flop.

KdQc7c

Checks around to the button, she bets $15, it folds to me I call, guy to my left calls. I put the Asian lady on a King and the guy to my left on a better King, straight draw, or two pair.

I check, guy to my left checks, button bets $15 again.

At this point, I’m not too sure if I should call, but I’m pretty sure the guy to my left will call if he just has a king or raise if he made his straight. I call, he folds. I was suprised he folded.

Heads up on the river.

River is Kc

I check, lady bets out $30.

So what do you do now? I’ll give you guys some time to post your thoughts before I post what I did and why, and how it turned out.
