i think sometimes people check raise way to much .. they discovered this trick and they cant stop using it.
for a while now i have made specific notes on people that i play online etc and weather or note they check raise and how often.. some people do it religiously when they have the nuts others do it when they have nothing.
how often do you think that you should check raise and when?
i have used information in various fashions :
1 . I will check if checked to by a check raiser if i am on the draw... and this person is known to check raise when he has a great hand...however if i have the nuts i will bet and know that he will check raise me thus alowing myself the oportunity to go back over the top of him, these types dont realize the only trap they are setting is a trap for themselves.
2. i will check raise players that are known for firing at the pot with nothing. I often fire at the pot with nothing and fall victim to the check raise myself and have to fold so why not use it against other players as well.
3. i try to not form a pattern of check raising and limit it to just 1-3 times in an entire SNG.
