strategy?
on a slot machine???
A slot machine
is a slot machine
is a video poker machine
is a slot machine
They are programmed to pay out
a certain percentage of what is fed
into them. That's it.
I drew trip deuces once.
I ditch the two off cards and hope
maybe I draw a pair for a boat.
WRONG!
I caught the case deuce.
Why?
Because it was time for the machine
to pay out.
You can start with 5 unpaired cards,
ditch them all and be given a royal
flush on the draw. Why?
Because it is time for the machine
to pay out.
With that out of the way,
ask away Turd.
If you still got questions,
I'll answer if I can.

this is blatantly incorrect. by this guerilla logic, one could just as easily say that blackjack is programmed to pay out a certain percentage of hands that are dealt and that "that's it." but we all know that is not the case; that the player does have an optimal play that is presented to them based on known variables. the same is true of [i:1366053629]some[/i:1366053629] forms of video poker. (incidentally, i hope that you are at least consistent with this line of thinking and maintain that online poker is nothing but a formality of hitting a hand when it is "time for the machine to pay out.")
as a general rule, both deuces wild with a full pay (+0.76%) and 10/7 double bonus (+0.17%) have a positive expectation. 9/6 jacks or better has a lower house edge than blackjack played with basic strategy. in fact, blackjack played with accurate card counting is your only option with a better +EV than the two afore-mentioned variations of video poker.
in reality, there are at least seven - that i can think of off the top of my head - forms of video poker that have a +EV.
the keys to remember are that you (obviously) need to play max coins at all times and adhere strictly to perfect (expert) strategy for the game that you are playing. charts for this are readily available. i would think that www.wizardofodds.com would be a good place to start.
