Re: Losing to win the big one?
[quote:693e62b2e2="Soljah"]Has anyone else done this:
Last night at my home game we were playing 1/2. I had a less then average player to my right who plays any two cards but fears missed flops. So everytime he raised to 5-10 i would re riase atleast double to just see if he had a real hand. Any time a flop would come that i figured he missed i would bet healthy and steal it with a big bluff. I would then also show him the bluff to get under his skin so that he would continue to call my re raise. once in awhile i would fold my cards to let him gain confidence all for the big payout.
in the 3rd to last hand i pick up AA in the big blind and in our table of 6 everyone has called a 10 dollar raise by the guy to my left. I re raise to 50 and weed everyone out except for the small blind. he calls. Flop is K 9 6 and I figure he picks up a King and nothing else....maybe a 9 with that being his favorite card to see. He bets 50 and immediately i go all in....he of course calls with his JacKing Off and i win nearly 200 from him right before we call it a night.
So basically is this too risky a strategy to lead a player on the entire night in hopes for one big hand late in the night? Should i count on picking up monster hands or just play tighter for the entire night and lose small/win small. My strategy usually ends up being win big / lose big....
any advice?[/quote:693e62b2e2]
