This hand was actually in the first level of the FNTO thispast weekend. Blinds were at 25/25 and everyone's stack was roughly 15,000 except for the SB in this hand who had around 30,000 already after busting a guy within the first 6-7 hands (aces full vs kings full FYI).
It was folded around to me in late position, I was dealt K :spade: 5 :spade: and I limp. SB checks and BB checks. Flop Comes K85 rainbow SB bets 50, BB calls and I call. Turn comes 3. SB checks, BB checks I bet 150 and they both call. river comes a 7 (no flush possibility). SB bets 50 into a pot of 675. BB reluctantly (and I am probably understating it) calls. I am thinking out loud just wondering what the hell kind of bet this is. It actually was a really good bet, I thought. Not really the kind of bet that I would ever make because it doesn't fit my playing style but it had me on my feet wondering what was going on. I eventually just called citing that it was too early. I had the best hand and SB showed 44.
My question is not so much about that hand, although I would like to hear any thoughts on it, but about if anyone sees bets like these frequently. I would also be interested to hear if anyone has any knowledge of what types of hands these people typically have. For example, are more people making these bets with monsters hoping to be reraised or small hands that want to see a cheap showdown. It wasn't an earth shattering hand but it got my attention.
